Today we enjoyed a fantastic day hiking Mt. Hoei with a lovely couple from Texas. The weather was perfect — mild sunshine, no strong glare, and just enough cloud cover to make the scenery even more dramatic.
From the trail we had breathtaking views: Mt. Fuji’s majestic peak, Suruga Bay, Sagami Bay, Tokyo in the distance, and even Miho Peninsula all in sight. Truly a panorama to remember.
We had a full-day booking, which allowed us to go beyond the crater and climb up to Mt. Hoei’s summit. Although it looked easy, the loose volcanic gravel made the final stretch surprisingly challenging — a perfect workout with an unforgettable payoff at the top.
