Today we welcomed guests from the cruise ship Celebrity Millennium for a private shore excursion from Shimizu Port.
Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji remained hidden behind the clouds throughout the entire day.
Of course, everyone hopes to see the mountain. So did we.
But days like this remind me why flexibility matters.
If you’re on a large bus tour, the itinerary is fixed. You travel long distances even if Mt. Fuji isn’t visible, wait for everyone to gather before departing, and sometimes spend more time at a stop than necessary simply because that’s the schedule.

Even without seeing Mt. Fuji, we explored beautiful forests, lava caves, waterfalls, and peaceful local places that many visitors never discover.
