Weather-flexible Mt Fuji sightseeing tour for cruise guests

Today we welcomed a family from the cruise ship Celebrity Millennium for a private shore excursion from Shimizu Port.

At their request, we drove up to the Fujinomiya 5th Station so they could experience Mt. Fuji itself with a short walk along the trail.

The weather could not have been better.

From above the tree line, we enjoyed spectacular panoramic views stretching across the plains below. Standing above the lush green larch forests, everyone could truly appreciate the scale and beauty of Japan’s highest mountain.

After experiencing Mt. Fuji up close, we continued the journey by visiting lava caves, waterfalls, and natural spring areas around Fujinomiya.

Shizuoka nature tour with waterfalls, forests, and Mt Fuji views

One of my favorite parts of the day was explaining the hidden journey of Mt. Fuji’s water.

Rain and snow fall on the mountain, slowly filtering through layers of volcanic rock before reappearing years later as the crystal-clear springs and waterfalls that have supported life in Fujinomiya for centuries.

By visiting both the mountain and the places where its water returns to the surface, guests can experience not only the landscape, but also the story that connects everything together.

This tour is perfect for cruise travelers who want to experience the natural side of Mt. Fuji beyond the typical sightseeing spots during their stop at Shimizu Port.
